Catatonically Speaking

November 16, 2009
I realize it’s been a while since posting last, but times being what they are in our immediate world, I know you’ll forgive me my absence.  If you recall, Mr. MaidenShade has been transferred.
In the last 2 months we’ve prepped, packed, staged, moved in with my in-laws, listed our house on MLS, had showings and then began a rental search.  And worked at our regular jobs too of course.
After repeatedly scouring, the local papers, and even Craigslist; creating lists, calling for availability and pet acceptance, mapping our course, then setting up viewing appointments, off we’d go.  We’ve taken the 3-hour-each-way trip up to the Tampa area 3 times in the last 7 days, and once a few weeks before that.  But the effort and diligence was worth it.

FINALLY I can say “Ta Daaaaa”!

After much searching, MaidenShade has found a new “physical plant” studio home!  We will be moving to Tarpon Springs in mid-December.  For photos of our new location, you can go to my profile on FaceBook.  It’s a seriously gorgeous property, I’ve teased you with one photo below.

Here’s a funny from my e-mail archives.  Mentally I’m in phase 7 right now… catatonia due to current-and-ongoing-traumatic-stress-syndrome with sugar on top!

6 Phases of Working

(Which stage are you???)

Phase 1

You are listening to folk or light jazz —
Your first day at work is great… Your co-workers are wonderful, your office space is cute, you love your boss.

Phase 2

You are listening to classic rock ‘n roll or pop music — After a while you are so busy that you are not sure if you’re coming or going anymore.

Phase 3

You are listening to heavy metal —
This is what happens after only about SIX Months!

Phase 4

You are listening to hip hop — You become bloated due to stress, you’re gaining weight due to lack of exercise because you are so tired and have so much work to do and when you get home you have more work to do.

You feel sluggish and suffer from constipation. Your fellow co-workers are too cheerful for your liking and the walls of your cubicle are closing in.

Phase 5

You are listening to GANGSTA RAP —
After more time passes, your eyes start to twitch, you forget what a ‘good hair day’ feels like as you just fall out of bed and load up on caffeine.

Phase 6

You are listening to the voices in
your head —

You have locked the office door to keep people out, you wonder WHY you are even here in the first place and ask yourself, “WHY did I come to work today!?!”

Congratulations! I was just bragging about you to my sister!

Woo Hoo! I’d like to crank the “I Get Knocked Down” song right about now and do the happy dance for you. (may just do so!)

It looks great! I’m sure you are getting anxious to get moved and settled in to your new place(s)! I wish you much patience in the meantime!

The kitchen looks really good, it would be hard for me to cook in it, of course I’m a messy chef! Sounds like things are kicking in and going good!
